I've certainly seen this problem, where a quarter of the application just 
disappears on maximisation.  I haven't seen that issue for a while though - I 
suspect it's a bit hit and miss.

We're using the www.fontis.com.au/rdesktop patches, to enable multiple 
applications to share the same connection.  I note we are also using the 
rdesktop switch "-a 16" to set the colour depth to 16-bit, that being the 
same setting as the client Linux o/s.  Whether that makes any difference or 
not I have no idea, but I could imagine colour depth having an impact on 
this.

You may also need to raise the maximum colour depth in terminal services.  If 
you run rdesktop from the command line, you should see a message about that 
colour depth not being supported.

Another thing you could try is setting the following key in the Windows 
registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
  Policies\Explorer\NoDesktop

Set DWORD to 1 for suppressing the desktop and 0 for reinstating the desktop.

This option enables you to have a Windows taskbar in Linux (by running 
explorer.exe), without it hiding your Linux desktop behind the Windows 
desktop.  Personally I have this option set to 1, but I think most of my 
users have it set to 0, but you could have a play with this and see if it 
impacts on the problem.

In case this issue rears its ugly head again for me, I'd be interested to hear 
how you get on.
