Limited color depth when running in seamless mode with multiple monitors

Hi folks.

Maybe someone has seen this.

I run rdesktop on my Mac and connect to a remote Windows 2003 Server box. I often use seamless mode (-A) and run a specific program on the remote box (-s). I have found that when I have an external monitor connected to my Mac, the redesktop connection has a very limited color depth (8 bits per pixel, perhaps?).

If I force the size of the window to be small (-g instead of -A), then the problem goes away, mostly. The color depth still seems restricted. The only way I can get the color to look completely right is to disconnect the external monitor and re-run rdesktop.

I have tried -C, -B, and various values of -a. None of these helps.

Interestingly, if I run rdesktop in seamless mode and THEN connect the external display, rdesktop is unable to take full advantage of the expanded display area. My external display is positioned to the left of my laptop. When I connect the external display, the redesktop window moves automatically to the external display. At that point it looks ok. But it is only able to display contents properly when the window is positioned in a portion of the upper left hand corner of the external display that is equivalent to the size of the Macbook Pro’s built-in display. In other words, rdesktop is not adjusting to the increased display area, and is just using the same area as before the external display was connected, only shoved up into the upper left hand corner of the new total display area.

Any ideas?
