rdp file parser

Our university has a web page to create rdp files to connect to
virtual machines.  In Windows and MacOS there are Microsoft utilities
that will read and understand these files and start the rdp connection
automatically.

I did a quick search so see if anyone had created a rdp file parser
that could either generate the appropriate command line options and
either display the command line needed or launch rdesktop with those
commands.  I haven't found anything.  Before I go through creating
something like this, has anyone done something like this before?
