I've just created a directory and it has permissions 750 and a file which has 
also permissions 750.

My umask is 0007, which means that files should in theory be 770 for 
directories and 660 for files (at least that is my understanding).

Have you looked at the permissions on directories and files created on the 
Windows server drives - I think you'll find that *all* files are created with 
those same permissions - not just the rdesktop shares.

I think you should probably google for a solution to setting default file 
permissions on Windows client shares.  I doubt this is an rdesktop specific 
problem.

Maybe you should be adding a group policy rule to remove execute permissions 
from the unc path, i.e. \\tsclient\*.

That seems very permissive - I'm sure you have your reasons, but personally I 
wouldn't want my home files to be globally readable.

I'd be interested to know how you get on with this, certainly executable 
permissions on files seems retarded to me, but then again it is windows we're 
talking about here!
