Connecting to Windows 7 with >16 bits

Dear List,

How can I connect to a box running Windows 7 Professional using 24 or 32
bits of color depth?

After googling, it seems like "-a 32" should do the trick, but all I get
is the error message

WARNING: Remote desktop does not support colour depth 32; falling back to 16
