I forgot about that. I meant Samba-PDC-HOWTO.html, like the one found at http://us1.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/Samba-PDC-HOWTO.html The section "Creating Machine Trust Accounts and Joining Clients to the Domain" reads: * "On-the-fly" creation. The Samba machine trust account is automatically created by Samba at the time the client is joined to the domain. (For security, this is the recommended method.) The corresponding Unix account may be created automatically or manually. You should add a note that for Win2k, there _has_ to be a add user script. This could also be mentioned in the section "On-the-Fly" Creation of Machine Trust Accounts. A passage there reads: This method is not required, however; corresponding Unix accounts may also be created manually. This isn't true for my setup, which is a Samba 2.2.3a-6 (the -6 means it's a debian package, I'm using woody aka Debian 3.0), and a Win2k professional box, running sp2, iirc. It might be the specific configuration I used, but a note that Win2k seems to like to create all the accounts would be nice.
