SIDs and RIDs are Microsoft technology.  Look in:

1. Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP Resource Kit (book).  The printed
   book is about $40 or so.  The Windows 2000 Resource Kits (both Pro
   and Server) are free online at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/reskit
   and are searchable.

2. The Advanced Search at Microsoft's website. Search in the following:
      Support & the Knowledge Base
      Developer Resources
      For IT Professionals
