Replication between DCs

Salutations to all on the Samba list

I have 2 AD DCs running Samba 4.24.2 over Alma Linux 9.7, one directly in
hardware, the other as a virtual machine. I had a hardware fault on the
first one, so it had to be turned off while we wait for a repair part.

As expected, replication now fails on the remaining DC, but in outbound
replication it reports success in some cases. How is this possible, since
the other DC is off since yesterday? Is this result to be expected or is
there a bug somewhere?

Here's the result when I run "samba-tool drs showrepl" on the working DC:
