Well, it must have been me. No other people with ssh-access there, 
afaik. And it has been installed by me years ago (migrating an earlier 
smb.conf etc etc).

I can't remember what I tried to do with that.

I was on backports for years at several sites. At some point in time I 
decided to stay with the default repo to make things easier. But I see 
your point and will consider adjusting that at the sites I run 
samba-AD-DCs at.

I assume/hope going from 4.22 to 4.24 won't be an issue ...
