Hello,
I wanted to report an issue I had with davenport 0.9.11 (I assume the latest version ?). When trying to access using a webdav client (cadaver, office 2 hd (ipad)) I would get this exception stack:
23:29:03.907 WARN!! Error for /192.168.1.10/java.lang.AbstractMethodError: org.apache.xerces.dom.DocumentImpl.getXmlStandalone()Z        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.DOM2TO.setDocumentInfo(DOM2TO.java:377)        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.DOM2TO.parse(DOM2TO.java:131)        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.DOM2TO.parse(DOM2TO.java:98)        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.TransformerImpl.transformIdentity(TransformerImpl.java:665)        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.TransformerImpl.transform(TransformerImpl.java:711)        at com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax.TransformerImpl.transform(TransformerImpl.java:317)        at smbdav.DefaultPropfindHandler.service(Unknown Source)        at smbdav.Davenport.service(Unknown Source)        at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:853)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(ServletHolder.java:358)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationHandler$Chain.doFilter(WebApplicationHandler.java:342)        at smbdav.CompressionFilter.doFilter(Unknown Source)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationHandler$Chain.doFilter(WebApplicationHandler.java:334)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationHandler.dispatch(WebApplicationHandler.java:286)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(ServletHandler.java:567)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.handle(HttpContext.java:1807)        at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.WebApplicationContext.handle(WebApplicationContext.java:526)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpContext.handle(HttpContext.java:1757)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpServer.service(HttpServer.java:879)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.service(HttpConnection.java:789)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handleNext(HttpConnection.java:960)        at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnection.java:806)        at org.mortbay.http.SocketListener.handleConnection(SocketListener.java:218)        at org.mortbay.util.ThreadedServer.handle(ThreadedServer.java:331)        at org.mortbay.util.ThreadPool$PoolThread.run(ThreadPool.java:520)
After a bit of googling, trials and (many) errors, I found out the problem comes from the version of java I was using. I searched for the 1st line of the exception stack (google) and found similar issues. The answers mentioned an incompatibility issue when running on jre 6 (the one coming with ubuntu "natty" by default). I installed an old jre 1.5.0_22. With this davenport seems to be working all right.
Maybe this should be added to the troubleshouting section ?
I had trouble finding old versions of JRE / JDK for linux (I am running davenport on ubuntu natty). Do you have any plan to upgrade so that davenport can work with newer JREs ?
Best regards,Antoine Faure
