The new version of the SILC Plugin is now available! The source package
of the software is available from the following sources:

	http://penguin-breeder.org/silc/

SILC Plugin 0.9.14 is out. It catches up with current SILC
development and thus introduce a first working version of data messages
support

Summary of Changes
------------------

o Introduction of working data messages support. In order to use it you
have to load the silc-mime.pl script in addition to the normal silc.pl
script you hopefully have loaded anyway.

The script will use your /etc/mailcaps and ~/.mailcaps to handle
incoming data messages. For sending there is a command /MMSG

    /MMSG [<-channel>] [target] [file] [content-type] [encoding]

o Several crashbug fixes and other bug fixes

o 0-day race condition fix :-)

Installation
------------

The source package is compiled and installed as instructed in the README
file found from the package. Quick installation:

Get & Compile Irssi from CVS
Get & Compile SILC Client 0.9.14
  ./configure --with-irssi=/path/to/irssi-src \
              --with-silc=/path/to/silc-src
  make
  make install

Please read the SILC Plugin README file for notes and hints for various
Unix flavours!!

Kown Issues
-----------

Besides the issues know for the SILC Client and the SILC Toolkit, these
additional problems are known to exist with the SILC Plugin:

- Makefile support for *BSD operating systems is still lousy

- Dedicating windows in your layout to SILC doesn't work yet, since the
SILC protocol isn't known to irssi at the time the layout is loaded

- There are still several messages print to stderr instead of Irssi's
  log window
