The new version of the SILC Plugin is now available! The source package
of the software is available from the following sources:

	http://penguin-breeder.org/

SILC Plugin is out with several new features and important bugfixes.
This version for example introduces LISTKEYS command and better MMSG
command. Enjoy!

Special Notice
--------------
The silc-mime perl script depends on the perl packages Mail-tools,
MIME-tools, and File::MMagic. Please make sure you have installed those
before using the silc-mime perl script.

Summary of Changes
------------------

o Added LISTKEYS command which can be used to list server and client
public keys from the ~/.irssi directory. See /HELP LISTKEYS. It
  supersedes the /SILC SHOW-KEY command.

o Improved the MMSG command. It now supports the target so it can be
used to send private messages too without opening a windows. It also
detects the MIME type now automatically. Support for digitally
signing the messages was also added. See /HELP MMSG, the help file is
there now. :) Replace the old silc-mime.pl script with the new one to
take advantage of all new features.

o Several other bugfixes were made.

The full list of changes is avilable on the SILCNet website and in
CHANGES file of the SILC Client distribution.

Installation
------------
The source package is compiled and installed as instructed in the README
file found from the package. Quick installation:

*Get & compile SILC Client 0.9.15*
  *Get & configure Irssi 0.8.6.CVS*
  ./configure --with-irssi=/path/to/irssi \
              --with-silc=/path/to/silc
  make
  make install

  /LOAD silc
  /SCRIPT LOAD silc
  /SCRIPT LOAD silc-mime

Please read the SILC Plugin README file for notes and hints for various
Unix flavours!!

Known Issues
------------
Besides the issues known for the SILC Client and the SILC Toolkit, these
additional problems are known to exist with the SILC Plugin:

- Makefile support for *BSD operating systems is still lousy

- Didicating windows in your layout to SILC doesn't work yet, since the
SILC protocol isn't known to Irssi at the time the layout is loaded

- There are still several messages print to stderr instead of Irssi's
  log window

- Signed messages do not correctly open a new query window
