Pidgin confused by multiple clients with identical credentials

Hello,
it seems that Pidgin will throw an error whenever user tries to get
information about a client which is present on the network more than
once:
"Cannot get user information"
It was reported by a user, using "Pidgin 2.5.5-1.fc11".
It is unclear whether two users with the same nickname are enough to
confuse it or whether it needs to be two users connected to the same
server from the same IP (two identical client instances running).
We only quick-tested the latter.
