did you give --enable-debug to configure?

if so, please do the following:

/load silc
/set debug_string *client*,*ske*
/silc debug on
/connect -silcnet SILCNet sauna.silcnet.org
/lastlog -file debug.txt

and send debug.txt - otherwise recompile with --enable-debug :)
