[WEB REQ] pthreads problem - silc-toolkit-1.1

Software: silc-toolkit-1.1
Operating System: Linux 2.4.20
Installation: source

Hi: I am trying to update to Silc-Toolkit 1.1 from an older version (which compiled without difficulties). Compilation for release 1.1 fails, except when pthreads is disabled. I believe the problem is with my older glibc (I have 2.9). The error is:
/scratch/silc-toolkit-1.1/lib/silcutil/silctime.h: In function `silc_usleep\':
/scratch/silc-toolkit-1.1/lib/silcutil/silctime.h:297: storage size of `tv\' isn\' t known
...

Would it be possible to maintain backwards compatibility (as before version 1.1)?
