Could not create public key identifier (pidgin/silc)

Hi,

I compiled pidgin 2.1 with silc-toolkit 1.1.2 from sorce. When I 
start pidgin, create a silc account and try to connect pidgin 
prints the error: "Cannot create silc keypair". On the console 
ther's the message: "Could not create public key identifier: 
Success".
When I start pidgin as root user the keys are generated and I can 
copy them to the users .silc dir.

Anyone has any ideas why the user isn't able to generate the keys?
