Silc and Pidgin

Hi to all.

I'm trying to use Silc on Windows XP. I want to connect to a channel requiring password and it seems Silky doesn't manage passwords.
So finally I'm trying with PidGin. I create a silc account but I get the following error message while trying to connect to the specified server:

Error during key exchange with nediam.com.mx: Key exchange timeout

So I tried to connect to 
http://silcnet.org/network/servers/?server=silc.icore.at
after copying the public key in my .silc directory, but no way.


What else [change options, different client, or somethig] should I try?
