How to set up and use private silc channel on pidgin

Do you know how to use pidgin to set up a private channel?
I can use
/cmode channelname +k
admin set channel test modes to: [private key]
So far so good.
Now how to set up a key for that channel
There is no /key command in pidgin
/key
Unknown command.

If I try
/help call
call <command>:  Call any silc client command

and then
/call key password
Unknown command: key

There is an option to set up a private channel in pidgin GUI, when you
add a channel and then right click on it, you will see a list of options
what modes you can set for the channel.Among those options there is "set
private channel".The weird thing is, which might be a bug, not sure,
that when I do /cmode channelname +k the gui in pidgin does not
recognize it.It does that for setting an topic restricted channel for
example.
