update (Re: upcoming release / call for contributions (fwd))

Dear nab-users, 
Since I promised a new release for end of May, which has not yet happened, 
here is a quick update: 

- The AODV RFC-compliant implementation is done and tested, and it is nice 
to be able to simulate a few thousant AODV nodes on a laptop with 512MB 
RAM!
- MACA partly implemented (this required a re-architecting of the MAC 
layer model), MACAW not yet.

So, a release with the above features as well as a propagation model (and 
maybe a few extra goodies) will be out in the mid-July timeframe.

If anyone needs AODV or MACA before then, please speak up; I may find time 
to put out an intermediate release with those features.

And as noted below, any code contributions (as well as general feedback) 
are welcome.

Sometime before the end of May I hope to put out a new release of NAB. So 
this email is to ask if any nab users have code (protocols, mob. 
models, etc..) which they would like to see folded into the mainline. 
Getting wider exposure will be good for your code as well as for NAB!

By the way, the main new features will be:

- a full, RFC-compliant implementation of AODV
- a MACA (rts-cts-data) mac layer, [possibly MACAW (rts-cts-ds-data-ack), 
otherwise MACAW will be in next release].
- a propagation model (prob. similar to the one in ns-2).

and also quite a few internal/API modifications and a few bug fixes.
