Hello everybody.

I got an e-mail from John E. Davis yesterday, informing me that the release of
a first preview of slang 2 is imminent. Thus, I decided to release the bunch
of bugfixes I made since slrn 0.9.8.0 as a new stable version right now and
then start to work on supporting slang 2 as soon as possible.

I just put a developer preview of it online at
<http://slrn.sourceforge.net/patches/slrn-0.9.8.0pl1.tar.gz>. Beside the bug
fixes, it has two new (minor) convenience features; see
<http://slrn.sourceforge.net/patches/changes.html> for details.

If you are an experienced user and have some time, please test it and inform
me of any problems you may encounter. If you are a translator and find some
spare minutes, please send me an updated .po file so it can get into the final
release.

Please note that I can only answer your e-mails next week, because I will be
away travelling from Wednesday to Sunday.
