I have recently and quite happily switched from reading newsgroups in
mozilla-mail to slrn and I have noticed that the version I am running -
slrn 0.9.8.1 [2004-10-07] - as provided by debian stable/sarge does not
render non-ascii characters correctly.

As an example in the name "Björn" the "ö" is replaced by the "unknown"
character as I call it - as vertically-oriented rectangle.

I have this working correctly in mutt and I was wondering if there was
anything I need to configure for this to work correctly. I (briefly)
looked at the man page, reference manual, and FAQ, and I did not find
anything obvious.

I tested this under xterm -u8 with my locale set to en_us.UTF-8 and I
cannot think of anything I could have left out from my setup.

Thanks,

cga
