cosmic radiation? Newsservers are mostly a "don't complain since you can
connect" service at ISP's, perhaps they changed the numbering. Are you
sure there are further articles in that newsgroup?

slrnpull knows which articles are in the local spool, and it asks the
server which articles the server has. Also used is the number of
articles to get in slrnpull.conf. For more information, read the source
- I don't know exactly how it works either.

I think you can remove .overview and .minmax from the spool directory,
then make sure the expiration interval is high enough that no articles
are actually expired and run slrnpull --expire on the spool - that will
rebuild .overview and .minmax.
