I also tested with slrn-9.8.1 stable (compiled against slang1)
and leafnode-2.

Is anybody using slrn with leafnode-2 here and can confirm this?

The issue seems to arise with commands that enter a group
*without* downloading previously read articles (according to
description in manual.txt): select_group w/o prefix arg,
skip_to_next_group, and skip_to_previous_group.
