Your ten commandments are of course much more elegant then my
Karamelbonbon. However, AFAICS, it doesn't take care of
invalid/wrong charset declarations (correct me if I'm wrong),
which annoy me a lot while reading.

Eg. Message-ID: <[email protected]>
in comp.text.tex declares iso-8859-1 for the body part, but
actually it's qp -- and this is only a minor example, nothing
compared to reading mailing lists on news.gmane.org.

If I find time I'll try to steal as much of your code as I can
and incorporate it into my stuff, to have less python and more
slang. Unfortunately my slang capabilities are even less
developed than my python ones.
