If you want to do this where slrn pays attention to replies across slrn 
sessions, things get trickier because the filtering must save/maintain 
state locally.  References: header values don't always help without 
saved state; thread identification is unreliable across sessions (you 
could easily lose track of which posts are replies to replies to a 
post).  It's possible to do what you're asking for but the job is not as 
easy as looking at the thread hierarchy one gets in article mode and 
assigning scores.
