Yup, found the culprit: new ncurses. I didn't realize the issue until now because I had customized entries in ~/.terminfo that I removed temporarily today. To my layman's eyes there's a new terminfo layout since the ncurses patch from 2007-11-17: $ ls -l /usr/local/share/terminfo | head -5 total 0 drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Nov 29 12:36 31 drwxr-xr-x 5 root wheel 170 Nov 29 12:35 32 drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Nov 29 12:35 33 drwxr-xr-x 5 root wheel 170 Nov 29 12:35 34 As opposed to (after downgrading): $ ls -l /usr/local/share/terminfo | head -5 total 0 drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Nov 29 22:53 1 drwxr-xr-x 5 root wheel 170 Nov 29 22:53 2 drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Nov 29 22:53 3 drwxr-xr-x 5 root wheel 170 Nov 29 22:53 4 Seems like Slrn doesn't look up terminfo dirs with 2 character names? Should I take this to the ncurses list (when I find time), or is it something that should be solved within Slrn (other programs don't seem to have that problem)?
