The plot thickens! I've tried posting by telnetting to my provider's newsserver. It didn't ignore the funny "Date:" header I set. Hmmm... I noticed that it's actually the time zone that comes out wrong when I post with this slrn build: it should be "+0100 CET" (as set on my system), but it's "+0000 UTC" instead. So I've also tried posting with slrn/0.9.8.1 and... the time zone is posted correctly! My guess: slrn/0.9.9-67 does in fact generate the "Date:" header but - under some unknown circumstances - gets the time zone wrong?
