slrn pre0.9.9-94

i just upgrade to revision 266 -
but the version strings tells me
it is at "slrn pre0.9.9-94".
why doesnt these two match?

or rather:  can slrn be adapted to
show its latest revision easily?

    $ slrn --version
    slrn 0.9.9.266

next: dealing with those
obsolete vars in the setup.
