Yes, that was my workaround. But it shouldn't be necessary.

It also doesn't fix the slrnpull.1 manpage not being installed, for
which I just did a quick hack to the Makefile as that's sufficient for
our purposes.

This used to work, and it's obviously supposed to. make slrnpull works
without any ./configure parameter, so if that was the correct way to do
it, there would be no reason for the --with-slrnpull parameter to exist
at all.
