I delete these last 3 entries and > it works fine. By "crashes", what do you mean? When I append those lines to my newsrc file, I see: Connected to host. Posting ok. Checking for new groups ... Checking news ... Group +00000000.0000 is bogus - dropping it. Run-Time Error Group a+00000000.0000 is bogus - dropping it. slrn fatal error: An error was encountered during initialization. Do you see something different? I do believe that slrn should not regard this as a fatal error, and should continue starting up. I will correct that this weekend.
