I am pleased to announce the release of version 0.9.9 of the slrn newsreader. The last official release of slrn was nearly four years ago when 0.9.8 was made available. Since then there have been numerous bug fixes and enhancements, particularly in the area of multiple character set support. More information about the newsreader can be found on its web page at <http://www.slrn.org/>. In particular, <http://www.slrn.org/download.html> contains links to the latest release as well as cutting edge development versions. The source code is also available via ftp from <ftp://space.mit.edu/pub/davis/slrn/>. The MD5 checksums are: 87c0172887bf6e020759bf6241c003fc slrn-0.9.9.tar.gz d66ab7af7f224c4dfc00f1fc38bbde71 slrn-0.9.9.tar.gz.asc I would like to thank everyone involved in the slrn project, both past and present, for contributing to the release. This especially includes the former maintainer Thomas Schultz, who kept the project moving forward during his tenure.
