Score threads to which I've posted?

I'd like to be able to raise the scores of threads to which
I've posted and then have those threads highlighted. It looks
liek the latter can be done using the score_color patch from
http://www.taraschi.net/slrn.

The former (the actual scoring) is less obvious. I've found
out how to increase the scores of articles that are descendants
of my postings, but that's not quite what I'm trying to do. I
want to increase the score of all articles in a thread to which
I post regardless of whether the posting in question is a
follow-up to my posting or not.

It think the adaptive scoring macros at http://www.icir.org/robin/slrn/
almost-but-not-quite do what I want. At first glace, one would
think that the "Thread" header specification would raise the
score for all articles in the the thread containing the article
that's triggering the action.

But, based on the README, that doesn't seem to be the case. If
I set up a rule to increase the score of the "thread" of
article X (to which I am following-up), it only affects the
score for articles that descend from X, not for the entire
thread.

Before I start hacking on the adaptive scoring macros to try to
get them to do what I want, does anybody know of a way to
increase scores for a thread to which I post?
