As I recall, you can't modify the look of the thread list in the way you want to by using a macro. I also believe there is no slrn option to do what you're aiming to do. But my familiarity with slrn configuration variables is not what it used to be. Please do peruse http://slrn.sourceforge.net/docs/slrn-manual.html and check for yourself. If I'm wrong about this, please do post back to the list. This leaves modifying slrn's source code. You could modify slrn to make it do what you want.
