I don't believe I have ever failed to get updated unread article counts for 
subscribed groups, it doesn't matter whether I've visited the group or not. 
Running the refresh_groups intrinsic (bound to "G" by default) does the job.

What version of slrn are you running?

Perhaps you should use the --debug option to produce a debug log and post 
that log file somewhere everyone can read, and then send the URL to the log 
plus a list of your subscribed groups to the mailing list. This would let 
others take a look to see what your server is sending back.

The refresh_groups intrinsic does this.

I've set the Reply-To: header because apparently the Mail-Copies-To: header 
isn't being paid attention to by your email program. Perhaps Reply-To: 
won't be filtered out (I don't know if it will be or not). I'm on the list, 
I can pick up followup posts there. I don't need or want another copy of a 
followup sent to me.
