how to import a local news hierarchy from gnus to slrnpull

I want to try to incorporate a modest news database I have accumulated
using emacs/gnus newsreader.  I have a little over 1,033,000 posts
organaized in hierarchy where the newsgroup paths are arrived at by
replacing the \. (dot) in the name by  forward slash (/).  Standard
stuff I think.

Now I want to pull that hierarchy into slrnpull or some other tool if
slrnpull is not suitable (I know next to nothing about slrnpull only
what I see on a quickie google on slrnpull)

And then continue accumulating the new messages in those specific
groups in whatever way slrnpull uses.

Can anyone coach me about this?
