Hi,
I've run into a oddity: when I try to run slrn, it seems like the program
tries to post something as soon as I authenticate, but does something
wrong, times out, and fails with an initialization error.
OS is Centos 6.10
slrn is 0.9.9p1 (not under my control)
Screen shows:
$ slrn --debug slrn.log
slrn 0.9.9p1
Loading /usr/share/slrn/slang/slrn.sl
Reading startup file /home/kjdavies/.slrnrc.
Using newsrc file /home/kjdavies/.jnewsrc for server news.usenetserver.com.
Connecting to host news.usenetserver.com ...

Password:

Connected to host. Posting ok.slrn fatal error:

As best I can tell, I get authenticated ('Posting Allowed') and then slrn
tries to post a message that fails... and times out, prevent initialization.
I can connect from the same workstation via telnet, download a groups list,
download a message list, view headers and bodies in a newsgroup... the NNTP
server seems to be doing what is expected. What could cause slrn to behave
like this?
Thanks,
Keith
