Slrn posting are blank

I'm having trouble posting anything from slrn.
Doesn't matter if I use Jed/emacs/nano/whatever my posts DO get
sent, but they are all blank. Nothing that I wrote gets sent. As if
the text never leaves the editor.

Clues please.
