I went to www.google.com/linux and typed "hosts.allow setenv wietse" as
searchstring:
http://www.google.com/linux?q=hosts.allow+setenv+wietse&site=search&restrict=linux&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&btnG=Google+Search

I got this (and much more):
http://www2.merton.ox.ac.uk/~security/linux-security-199808/0006.html

Its a posting from Wietse Venema where he explains the syntax.
However, other people use also "setenv=..." successful. I can see this from
the discussions I found with google.
Maybe its version dependent. From the search results I can see, that other
people (mostly qmail users) have problems too :-).

I dont want to confuse. "setenv" in hosts.allow just doesnt work for me and I
wanted to share this information with you and possibly solve the problem.

greetings,

Peter
