Authentication

I have just installed sn on a Linux system where I have a shell login
account. Since I don't have root access I am runing the snntpd
daemon using couriertcpd and it's listening on port 50119.

It all seems to work OK, I have set up some local test groups and I
can post to them remotely using tin via NNTP, excellent and simple to
set up.

However there is one oddity, when I connect with tin it says "server
requires authentication" and makes me enter a user name and password.
It works whatever I enter so it isn't really asking for
authentication, is there any way to stop it asking this?
