I tried with pine and sylpheed(claws). Both work fine with
news:cis.dfn.de, but not locally. SN, btw, fetches it's news from
there flawlessly, it just does'nt wish to show them to anybody
else than telnet. 

I tried to eliminate the tcpd mechanism which I had installed
according to the installation files, but this did change nothing.
