News -> list gateway?

I've just set up sn, and am very happy with it. It does everything I want it
to do quickly and efficiently. I'm extremely pleased with the footprint ---
167kB, according to my Debian package --- and it seems to be very simple to
administrate.

It also plays very nicely with minimalist, the equally tiny mailing list
manager I run. I have minimalist set up to archive messages via sn into a
newsgroup, so my users can look at the mailing list archives the way the
gods intended, via NNTP.

(Note: I did have to do one slightly dodgy thing. snstore explicitly checks
the uid/gid to ensure that it's news.news, which is unhelpful since
minimalist invokes it with list.list. Normally I'd just add list to the
news group, but the explicit check stops this from working. Eventually I
gritted my teeth and made snstore setuid --- I need to write a proper
wrapper for it.)

Now, the next thing I want is to set things up to mirror stuff in the other
direction, so that my users can post to the newsgroup and it goes out on
the mailing list. Are there any useful tips for how to do this? How does
snntpd post stuff, anyway? If it invokes snstore then I can replace that
with a wrapper that checks the newsgroup and origin of the message, and
passes it on to minimalist for posting. Or is there a better way?

I did find pyg, but it seems to be very large and unwieldy and I'd prefer
something smaller. (The server this runs on is a 48MB P166.)
