Seems sn.a missing. I tried to compile snprimedb manually,
without make(1), and here is the result:

samwise:/home/gzp/src/sn-0.3.3$ cc snprimedb.o sn.a -o snprimedb -L./lib -lstuff -L.
ld: sn.a: read_file_symbols(header): premature EOF
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
