Question regarding posts with attachments

I've been succesfull so far in installing, running and implementing 
authentication with SN. Newsgroups are running fine, but I have a small 
issue. Posts appear OK, but I don't see any remark in my newsgroup 
reader (Thunderbird in my case) that a post has an attachment. Not until 
I fully downloaded the message. You can realise that this can delay 
things, since sometimes I'm not interrested in downloading the full message.

Is there any way to work around this ?
