Memory usage of spread daemon increases a huge amount between 4.0 and 4.1

Hello,

we used spread 4.0 and migrated to spread 4.1. Hereby the amount of
memory the daemon is using in "idle" mode directly after startup
increased approximately by 30 Times.

pmap reports     95020K (Version 4.1)
                 3380K (Version 4.0)

There may be some changes in the parameters done for the needs of our
Software.

Which parameters may cause such a huge memory allocation. 

Or is this the normal behavior between this Versions ?
