Length of configuration file path

Dear all, from time to time we end up in segfaults of the spread daemon in our continuous integration setup because of a very simple but in that context hard to debug problem: the length of the string to the configuration file is currently limited to 80 characters and contents are copied there without checking the real length of the path beforehand. Could you please increase that limit in the next release or make it really dynamic? This would remove one potential error for us.
