Without an actual error dump, this is all just speculation.  As for lls, I thought it was ls that was missing and that you were testing it from an ssh session.  The sftp session is certainly different than ftp.  Each distribution of sftp has slightly different commands.  Since lls in sftp is a local ls, it may be that the command is not available in the openssh client that you are using.

Search google for putty, and see if that sftp client provides the necessay interface for your application.

Is this perl script open source?  I would be willing to try it on my systems.

The server is a linux server that sftp is connecting to. my windows also has ls.exe in the system32 folder. should there be an lls.exe file in the copSSH directory? for some reason I get the error during my perl script stating that there is 'no file name or directory'. Could this be because the lls command does not work?

	Many copSSH users will use it because it doesn't come with the full cygwin package.  Ls may not be part of that package.  You can just copy the missing files that you need from a cygwin install package into your copSSH bin directory.

	It works now.
	
	When sftp into the server and type 'lls' I get the error:
	Couldn't execute "/bin/sh": No such file of directory 
	Shell exited with status 1
