Actually, I'm more inclined to blame a fear of getting tangled in the Yahoo! tentacles. I know more than a few people who stay away from Yahoo! wherever possible due to their, shall we say "aggressive interpretation of a person's privacy needs". But, back on topic, it seems like, after so many years, that there should be a few stock answers to a question like this. I can't say that I know them (since I tend to just write my own applications typically fusing together some other kind folks' well-built libraries), but this does seem like a good place for the question.
