They are nested, via the channel's rdf:Seq containter. This is an 'rdf
thing'. There are any number of situations where having only a hierarchical
relationship is problematic. RDF serialized in XML allows a number of
clever ways to break free of the hierarchy should an application benefit
from it. That said, a great many RSS-oriented applications do not take
advantage of the possibility.
