That's fair comment. It could be taken as a proposal to the RSS-DEV
list/community the RSS1.0 folks to endorse as the favoured bugfix 
path for RSS1.* but even then, then changes go beyond mere fixes. 
It's (potentially, given some review...) a better format...

There's a lot of work gone into Atom, I hope some way can be found 
to minimise the cost of having yet another feed format out there.
