Yep, I think Sean might have it about right when talking about the normative ontology being DL or Lite but looking at things through informative XSLT spectacles when going from 10 to 1.1. I do think clear advice on how to map/merge feeds should be given, this is likely to be an immediate need for anyone wishing to consume 1.1. Translating from RSS 2.0 to RDF is relatively easy because there's just a simple, very loosely-specified domain model to work from. All hail XSLT. But with RSS 1.0 documents having an RDF model already, well, it's a bit lumpier.
